Children's Ministry

Partnering with and supporting parents

The Children’s ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, seeks to partner with and support parents as they “bring them (their children) up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Eph 6:4) We aim to do this through offering age-appropriate programming as well as opportunities for your child(ren) to be with you in worship.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday School for infants through 5th Grade, starting at 9AM. In our classes we use The Gospel Project Study material. The Gospel Project is designed to work through the entirety of Scripture showing how the Bible is one story with God as the central figure.

There is extended care for infants and toddlers during the worship service time, starting at 10:15AM.

Children’s Church is the first 3 Sundays of each month for children Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. They also study The Gospel Project during their time together. Children start with their parents in the Sanctuary for the singing part of worship and then are dismissed for Children’s Church after the offering. At the end of the service you can find your child(ren) in the cafeteria area.

Wednesday Evenings

On Wednesday evenings during the school year we offer AWANA for our children through 5th Grade. “AWANA” stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” derived from 2 Timothy 2:15, emphasizing the importance of faithful service. The AWANA program is designed to help children and youth learn about Jesus, develop a strong faith foundation, and be trained to serve Him. AWANA is at 6:30PM on Wednesday nights.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer there is a week in June we offer Vacation Bible School in the evening for kids who have finished Kindergarten through 6th Grade. We use curriculum from Answers in Genesis and have a different theme each year.
